Mario Balotelli Says Goodbye To Liverpool Fans Ahead Of AC Milan Move
Mario Balotelli has said farewell to Liverpool fans after he returned to Italy.
The 25-year-old striker underwent a medical on Tuesday but AC Milan are yet to confirm the loan deal's completion.
Balotelli struggled for form in his first season at Anfield and scored just one Premier League goal last season after his £16m move from Milan.
And Balotelli, who scored 26 goals in 46 games for the Rossoneri during his last spell at the club, is now heading back to Serie A after posting a farewell message to Liverpool fans on his official Facebook page.
"I'm grateful to Liverpool FC and Liverpool fans for the time and opportunities you gave me," he wrote.
"It's not a goodbye but rather a farewell. I'll be supporting you guys all the way in every competition... unless you face AC Milan."
Balotelli will be required to have a good behaviour clause inserted into his contract with Milan if his loan deal from Liverpool is to go through, according to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
Reports in Italy suggest that Milan's chief executive, Adriano Galliani, was behind the clause, which is rumoured to ban any extravagant hairstyles or clothing, careless social media use and irresponsible behaviour.
Balotelli has suffered from disciplinary issues on and off the field during his career. In 2013 he missed 11 games in one season for Manchester City because of suspension.
