TOBY Sheldon, the man who found fame for spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to look like Justin Bieber, has reportedly been found dead.
TMZ reports the 35-year-old’s body was found in a motel in the San Fernando Valley in California on August 21. He was reported missing on August 18.
While it remains unclear how the Los Angeles-based songwriter died, police reportedly found drugs in the hotel room, according to TMZ.
When Sheldon — also known as Tobias Strebel — went missing just days ago, police said the disappearance may have been triggered by a breakup with his boyfriend.
The occasional reality TV star has spent over $100,000 in the last seven years in an attempt to better resemble the 21-year-old pop star, with surgeries including face fillers, a chin reduction, eyelid surgery and hair transplants.
In 2014, Sheldon featured in an episode of TLC’s My Strange Addiction. “Some people buy fancy cars or fancy mansions. What I do with my money is, I get surgery to look more like Justin Bieber,” the lookalike said.
He also appeared on Botched in 2014 and explained his fascination with his idol. “What brought me to Bieber was the whole package: the full cheeks, the full temples, the bright open eyes, the full luscious lips, and spatial framing … [Justin’s] just extraordinarily beautiful.”
Sheldon, who previously admitted he has a fear of ageing, started his obsession with Bieber when he first shot to fame in 1998.
