Man Utd And Real Madrid Desperate To Revive De Gea Deal

Manchester United and Real Madrid will attempt to revive David de Gea's move to the Bernabeu on Tuesday after the deal fell through on Monday night.

Madrid were unable to complete the deal to sign De Gea, which would see Keylor Navas move to Old Trafford, after the Spanish transfer deadline passed without the National Professional Football League [LFP] receiving the necessary paperwork to verify the switch.

But Goal understands United insist they registered the necessary documents on Fifa's transfer matching system in time for the deal to go through.

Both clubs are desperate to complete the transfer, and Goal understands they will make presentations to Fifa and the LFP on Tuesday.

De Gea had been expected to make his long-awaited move to Madrid on Monday before the late confusion on deadline day in Spain.

The Spain international has sat out United's opening fixtures of the new season, while Louis van Gaal has moved to sign Sergio Romero and make the 28-year-old his No.1 goalkeeper.
