Villarreal president Fernando Roig has confirmed the club have sold Luciano Vietto to Atletico Madrid.
The fee for the Argentine has not yet been revealed, though reports claim the two clubs have agreed a €20 million deal.
Roig said at a press conference on Monday: "We have finalised the sale of Vietto and Javier Aquino, to which we have to add the departure of Uche a few days ago. Vietto has been sold to Atletico Madrid."
The 21-year-old played under Atletico boss Diego Simeone during his time at Racing Club, before moving to Villarreal last summer.
Vietto scored 12 La Liga goals in 2014/15, a haul which has seen him linked with a host of European sides, but Atleti have won the race for his signature.
