When a lady reaches her extreme late 40s, she may face the problem of irregular or late periods. This irregularly is the sign of the transition of the reproduction phase in a woman.

This phase will lead to a stage in which she will not be having any menstruation for the rest of her life. This is due to the hormonal changes caused by the growing age. Thus, menopause is also one of the reasons for delay in menstruation.

Medicines
High dose medicines can cause temporary hormonal imbalance which may cause delay in your cycle. If you are taking this medicine for a long term treatment, you should consult your doctor immediately as it may also lead to stopping of menstruation.

Generally, it is a temporary which can be rectified once the medicine intake is stopped.
