Nigerians in diaspora want Diaspora Commission Bill

Nigerians in Diaspora have called on President Muhammudu Buhari to sign into law, the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission Bill.

Briefing newsmen in Lagos Thursday, coordinator of the forum, Mr. Alistair Soyode, said that the bill was among the 46 bills recently passed by the Senate.

Soyode, who appealed to the president to sign the bill into law, said the bill would “provide for the engagement of Nigerians in diaspora in the policies, projects and participation in the development of Nigeria and for the purpose of utilising the human and material resources of Nigerians in diaspora towards the overall socio-economic, cultural and political development of Nigeria.”

He added that “we want to work towards getting a database of Nigerians in Diaspora for proper documentation, and also include representatives from each state in the commission. “
