Despite moving two places up in the monthly Fifa ranking released on Thursday, the Super Eagles are ranked seventh in Africa
Nigeria have moved up to the 42nd position in the latest Fifa global rankings released on Thursday.
The Eagles remain the seventh ranked African side behind Algeria, Cote d'Ivoire, Ghana, Tunisia, Cape Verde Island and Senegal.
Algeria continue to be the top-ranked African side and are 21st in the world. Cote d’Ivoire are in 24th position in the world and second in Africa. They are followed by Tunisia, Ghana, Senegal, Cape Verde Island, Nigeria, Guinea, Congo DR and Cameroon.
The biggest climbers of the month are Madagascar (113th), while Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier opponents, Chad dropped 20 places to be placed 172 in the world.
Germany occupy the first position on the Fifa /Coca-Cola World Ranking with Argentina and Colombia third and fourth respectively while Spain crawled back to the tenth position in the world.
The next world ranking will be published on July 2, 2015.
