Chelsea FC midfielder John Mikel Obi has agreed personal terms
with United Arab Emirates giants Al Ain, according to
AfricanFootball.com.
The report, which quotes agent of the
Nigeria international, Babawo Mohammed, claimed Mikel was in Dubai to
thrash out contract terms with the club in the past week.
“Mikel
has agreed personal terms with Al Ain and is now left for Chelsea and
the Dubai club to agree on a transfer fee,” Mohammed is quoted as
saying.
“He has returned to England to communicate all these to Chelsea.
“We just have to wait and see what Chelsea say in this regard.”
Mikel
has one year left in his current deal which ends in June 2016. This is
not the first time the former Lyn Oslo stalwart is linked with a move
away from Chelsea having reportedly been wanted by Roma, Fenerbahce and a
host of others in the recent times.
Mikel has played bit-part role for the Premier League champions in the past couple of seasons.
