Cesc Fabregas believes that Neymar will succeed Lionel Messi as the best player in the world, claiming the Brazilian's reign will begin when the Argentine retires.
Fabregas spent a season playing alongside Neymar at Barcelona, following the Brazil forward's arrival at Camp Nou from Santos in 2013.
The Selecao starlet had some difficulties on and off the field during his debut season in Spain but Fabregas says he quickly realised that Neymar was the heir to Messi's throne.
"Adaptation always takes time but you could already see the natural talent, his love for football and his amazing skills," the Chelsea midfielder told Goal. "You could see that he would reach this level sooner or later.
"I think it will be difficult [for Neymar to reach Messi's level] but when Leo retires from football in a few years, I think Neymar will be the one who reigns."
